Hyde
Chalks Up First Geze Training Challenge
The UK's leading manufacturer of door and window control
systems, GEZE UK, has promoted service engineer Darren Hyde to the role
of technical training officer.
As
the first person in the UK to gain NVQ Level 2 in the service and repair
of automatic doors, Darren has demonstrated a long-held commitment to
professional development and has a strong pedigree in engineering, with
seven years in GEZE UK's service team and previous experience as a production
manager in the automotive industry.
Based at GEZE UK's Head Office in Lichfield, Darren will play a leading
role in the training of new engineers and further develop its existing
highly experienced team of installation and service engineers. His high-quality
in-house training will enable all service and installation engineers
to achieve the highest possible level of professional industry qualifications.
Darren will also provide practical training and education on new and
existing products for all staff.
In addition to gaining BS7036 accreditation, recognised by ADSA, all
GEZE engineers are currently registered or taking part in NVQ2, which
has been specifically tailored to the industry. Going one step further
than the ADSA exam, the qualification provides evidence to contractors
that the engineers are not only competent to carry out their work but
is also knowledgeable of site health and safety policies.
Darren said: "This is a very exciting opportunity for me and I've
already been able to expand my knowledge of our products and those of
our competitors. The efficiency and effectiveness of each of our engineers
on site is so important to the success of the project, helping the contractor
as well as enhancing GEZE's reputation, and I take pride in knowing
that I have contributed to our team delivering a professional service
on all our projects.
"Getting the job done right, first time and communicating well
with the contractor and other workers on site should be a pre-requisite
for everyone in the industry; that's why I'm here to make sure that
GEZE exceeds those expectations."
GEZE UK's technical director Simon Bowden added: "With considerable
industry knowledge, experience and an easy rapport with his fellow engineers,
Darren brings passion, enthusiasm, expertise and empathy to the role.
His personal experience of the challenges facing his colleagues on site
and his ability to convey technical information, makes him ideal for
the role and well prepared to maintain and enhance the record of training
success at GEZE UK."
