Substantial Metal Technology Glazing for Northampton Apartments

Close at hand to Northampton's city centre facilities is one of the town’s newest developments, Centro in Broad Street. With architectural glazing by Metal Technology , the four different apartment blocks by Barratt Northampton, create a new ‘residential street’ in this lively area. Fabricator for the project was Deane & Amos.

Incorporating concealed underground car parking, Omega House, with 57 one and two bed apartments, is just one five storey block within this development. Approximately 300 Metal Technology System 5-20 high performance tilt and turn aluminium windows have been used throughout the project, some with dual colour.

Recently the System 5-20 tilt and turn window was further improved with additional sash profiles to accommodate new robust, concealed gearing and hinges. Incorporating an anti-slam device, this gear also easier to adjust and fabricate, while offering increased tolerances.

Part of the development’s design includes a two storey height central lobby, created with Metal Technology’s System 9 Flush-glaze, while System 18-30 commercial aluminium doors were also used in each block.

Instantly appealing, the project not only coordinates a variety of roof heights and gables with harmonized finishes, the high quality of the glazing package means it will retain its good looks for many years to come.
