SIEGENIA-AUBI
means Quality - Rain or Shine
With a little help from SIEGENIA-AUBI, Essex-based
New Century Windows is celebrating the achievement of a severe weather
rating for its folding sliding doors.
Director
Paul Crudgington says the BS6375 rating for the doors, which feature SIEGENIA-AUBI
FS Portal folding sliding hardware, will help give the company an edge
over the competition.
The fact that every door we make is built ready to fit and fully
functional before it leaves our factory, and that the owners of the business
play a hands on role in maintaining manufacturing quality have always
given us a head start. Now, the severe weather rating will help us stay
one step ahead, he says.
New Century Windows was one the first fabricators to see the scope and
profit opportunities for folding sliding doors almost five years ago.
After six months in development, the company launched its first door in
2004, using SIEGENIA-AUBI's FS Portal folding sliding hardware.
Says Paul, The decision to use SIEGENIA-AUBI hardware was a clear
cut choice. When we were developing our door, nobody else was anywhere
near having the quality of hardware we were looking for. We've also had
a lot of technical support along the way, both from SIEGENIA-AUBI and
from Mila Hardware.
SIEGENIA-AUBI national sales manager, Alastair Wheeler, adds, New
Century is one of the pioneers of the folding sliding door, and it has
completed some great installations over the last four years.
The company supplied a security door with a special low threshold
for a barn conversion that housed a classic car collection; and folding
sliding doors for a workshop that was being used to rebuild a specialist
aircraft engine. That customer needed to be able to get the engine in
and out of the workshop to work on it, and folding sliding doors were
the only option. New Century has certainly identified its niche and its
reaping the rewards.
New Century Windows is currently averaging 30-40 door sets a month, and
Paul is confident it can replicate the success it enjoyed last year, if
not expand it:
It's about identifying niche products and using your skills and
experience to identify the opportunities that will drive the business
forward, he says. Even in these difficult times the volume
of products we're putting out is growing month on month.
