Alumet
gets Royal Approval
HRH The Duke of Kent KG officially opened Alumet's
new Innovation Centre on Friday 20th June. The Duke spent nearly two
hours at Alumet's Southam facilities and had lunch with the Directors
before unveiling the commemorative plaque.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Mrs Anna Trye (High Sheriff
of Warwickshire), Mrs Marion Haywood (Chairman of Warwickshire County
Council), Mr Vince Seaman (Chair of Stratford-On-Avon District Council),
Mrs Linda Tasker (Mayor of Southam) and Mr Martin Dunne (The Lord-Lieutenant).

Alumet
says that it is one of the leading innovators in the construction industry
and the new centre will house the continued development of the comany's
existing products such as the Avon Solar Control sun-shading system
, the ABLE Facade - Alumet's unique off-site fabricated, enhanced bomb-blast
resistant walling system and provide a purpose built facility for further
research & development into new facade systems.
Since receiving The Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2004 the company
has gone from strength to strength cumulating in the £500k investment
of the new 10,000 sq ft Innovation Centre, the grand opening coincided
with Alumet's annual summer open day, employees families and invited
guests took the opportunity to view the company's facilities and product
range.
Staff training also plays a big part in the Alumet culture, and in keeping
with its Investors in People accreditation, a new Training Centre is
also under construction at the company's Warwickshire headquarters.
Alumet was recently named 'Business Innovator of The Year' at The Variety
Club Midlands Business Awards.
