Beaufort Claims A First For Aluminium Windows
Beaufort
has claimed an industry first with the launch of its Advanced Plus fully
integrated aluminium window system. A breakthrough in energy efficient
windows, the new system can achieve an 'A' Window Energy Rating (WER)
using a double glazed IG unit and is the result of over 12 months research
and development - testament to the innovative ideas that the company has
become renowned for.
All window sections feature a polyamide thermal barrier to enhance thermal
efficiency achieving whole window 'U' values as low as 1.3w/m2k. This
qualifies for Code 4 of the Sustainable Homes Directive, which is widely
in demand from specifiers.
Beaufort's new Advanced Plus System is available in internally or externally
glazed options. The new System boasts an impressive array of industry
accreditations: all aluminium sections are extruded to BS EN 12020 and
it is certified to BS 4873 and BS 7950 Kitemark standards and is Secured
by Design licensed.
Advanced Plus has also been designed for maximum performance standards
set out in BS 6375 and has achieved 600 Pa Air Permeability, 600 Pa for
Water Penetration and 2400 Pa Wind Resistance.
In addition to superb performance, Beaufort's Advanced Plus System can
accommodate a comprehensive range of window hardware and gearing systems
including easy clean and emergency egress friction stays. Child safety
window restrictors are also available. Security is assured via stainless
steel shoot bolt locking mechanisms, with additional security achieved
by fitting hinge claws.
Offering
the ultimate in thermal performance, strength and security, Beaufort's
latest development is ideal for domestic and commercial aluminium window
applications in both the public and private sectors. It is also fully
compatible with the company's range of Polyamide screening and curtain
wall systems.
As with all products from the Beaufort aluminium range, the Advanced Plus
System is fully supported by the company's experienced technical team.
Their services include technical drawings, detailed specifications, structural
and thermal calculations and guidance on fabrication and installation
procedures. The department can also advise on specific size, function
and design requirements.
The Advanced Plus System was officially unveiled at Interbuild 2007 to
critical acclaim from all areas of the industry. Head of Sales, Patrick
Burke says: 'The system attracted lots of attention and we're already
signing up fabricators who want to offer this pioneering and innovative
product range to their customers. Combining the benefits of aluminium
in terms of slim sightlines and inherent strength with unrivalled thermal
performance, the Advanced Plus puts Beaufort at the forefront of aluminium
system design.'
