New Direction for Nusing

Having been established for over 12 years, Nusing of Loughborough last year decided to reorganise its manufacturing operations and as part of this installed an SBZ130 CNC profile machining centre and accompanying software from Elumatec.

‘We were looking to make changes in the methodology of manufacturing our products,’ comments David Bolton, Production Director at Nusing. ‘We manufacture bespoke steel framed moveable partitions clad in aluminium for a diverse range of applications, from hotels to conference suites to hospitals to schools. Automated machinery from Elumatec provided the ideal solution and we installed the equipment in November2007 as part of the overall company redevelopment.’

And the investment is already paying off! ‘It is everything we expected and more!’ announces David. The machine helps to speed up the process of fabricating the metal units, drilling, milling and slotting everything into place accurately and quickly time after time. The Elusoft computer software ensures the smooth and easy operation of the machinery, and although the system is so sophisticated and advanced, it is easy to run.
‘The whole system was installed effortlessly and without any disruption,’ continues David. ‘We did not have to increase our manpower and training to use the system was comprehensive and we picked it up very quickly.’

Since its installation, the company has seen a notable increase in productivity and within a competitive marketplace, this has given them the edge over other companies within the same field. ‘Moving over to an automated system has been a total revelation,’ concludes David. ‘We are constantly expanding with more and more clients recognising the benefits of moveable walls as a space saving solution for virtually any building. As our company expands, the SBZ130 will play a very large part in ensuring that we keep up with demand and expand our profitability in the future!’
