The
Heat Will be on in October at the G08 Awards
The
summer holidays may be a distant memory by October but a warm glow of
expectation will be in the air as G08 draws near and with it a night of
food, fine wines, fun, friends and, of course FINALS!
For as much as the glass and glazing industry looks forward to G08 for
an opportunity to go a little wild for a few hours, this is also the time
for the industry's finest to be revealed and celebrated as outstanding
examples of their particular craft.
Once more the excellent Hilton Birmingham Metropole will be the venue
on Friday 3rd October when it is expected that more than 500 of the glass
and glazing industry's glitterati can bling the night away, with the winners
of the dozen Awards categories entitled to crack open an extra bottle
of champers or two.
Companies to have pledged their commitment early on to G08 as new sponsors
include hardware giant Avocet, and pioneers of warm edge technology Edgetech
who join Pilkington Activ, the Glass and Glazing Federation, WHS Halo,
FENSA, and Glassex 09, with several other big names soon to be announced.
Organiser Tony Higgin has also announced that entries to the G08 Awards
must be submitted by 15th August 2008 and, with a surge in the number
of entries received last year, he warns would be competitors that late
submissions will not be accepted. Says Tony: We have been delighted
with the increase in entries but of course this and the excellent overall
quality places huge pressures on the judges. I urge anyone considering
entering their companies this year to begin preparations now to ensure
they will be considered. We expect G08 to be even bigger and more spectacular
than last year - start planning now!
