Metal Technology Glazing Accommodates new Dublin Hotel

Metal Technology’s reputation in the leisure sector has been further strengthened by adding the architectural glazing on west Dublin’s new six-storey, four star hotel in the city’s Tyrrelstown district. Completed by the project team of architects Consarc, main contractor McAleer & Rushe and fabricator Fortress Architectural, this is another flagship development for client Carlson Hotels Worldwide Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts.

Interest is given to the L-shaped building by its round-towered entrance and a sympathetic choice of materials for the building envelope. System 17 curtain walling, System 10 doors and System 4-20 casement windows have been incorporated into natural stone, white render and oak cladding on different façade sections.

Metal Technology’s high performance glazing is an integral part of this contemporary hotel’s thermal requirement while flooding natural light into the 155 guest rooms, 8,000 sq ft of banqueting and conferencing facilities as well as its gym, restaurant and Hourglass bar. With close proximity to both Dublin city centre and Dublin Airport, the accommodation is a welcome addition to the commercial and leisure facilities of this vibrant city.

Other leisure developments by Metal Technology include Aintree Racecourse and seven Jurys Inns, as well as numerous shopping and leisure centres. Completing in excess of £600m installations to date, Metal Technology’s growth throughout the UK and Ireland continues to impress.
