Diversification with Elumatec

MBE Glazing Systems of Elland, West Yorkshire specialises in producing aluminium glazing options - and to enhance production, increase productivity and consolidate its position in the marketplace, the company relies upon Elumatec technology.

MBE has been benefiting from the speed and accuracy of the Elumatec SBZ122 profile-machining centre for a number of years, to augment its aluminium output from its factory, which has dedicated fabrication and assembly lines for doors, windows, frames and curtain walling. The emphasis is upon quality and accuracy - and according to Mr. Singh of MBE, only by investing in the very best resources can this be achieved: ‘As profiles and locking systems become more advanced and complex to cope with the ever changing market, we feel that we need the machines and technology to meet these demands,’ he explains.

‘The need to maximize our available factory space to accommodate the increase in the aluminium market, and also in today's economic climate, to diversify into other areas, has led us to look at our options for future progression. We have now invested in more machinery including an Elumatec MGS245 saw and the Elusoft software programme, which will serve not only our existing machines, but a newly ordered SBZ140. This brings the total of Elumatec machines to five throughout the factory.’

The Elusoft programme directly links to the Elumatec machines as well as being compatible with a wide range of existing digital window manufacturing programmes. Reducing the risk of incorrect data entry, the Elumatec combination of machine and software, including label printing and bar code readers, is designed to significantly boost productivity which is what MBE is aiming for.

‘The marketplace is incredibly competitive and signs are that this will last for a long time,’ continues Mr Singh. ‘We are prepared for this - we have armed ourselves with the very latest in machinery and equipment to provide the highest quality products consistently and to the customers' demands.’
