Hermann Gutmann Introduces its New Element Curtain Wall

Gutmann introduced it at the BAU 2007 trade fair and has now begun production: element curtain wall EF 68. The advantage of this curtain wall is obvious. A high degree of prefabrication saves time and money.

The individual aluminium curtain wall elements are all fabricated and assembled at the customers factory - including in-fills , such as sound-control glass, panels, opening elements, and sun protection modules. Which are then transported to the construction site and simply lowered into the strapping by crane. which makes scaffolding unnecessary.

The design of the EF 68 provides invaluable benefits as well. The aluminium profiles are thermally broken with fibreglass-reinforced polyamide bridges and have narrow face widths of only 68 millimetres. The exterior of these unitised curtain walling may be configured in various ways. Form standard curtain wall, integral windows are simply mitred and placed per module. For the mock SG (Structural Glazing) curtain wall, where virtually only the glass is visible. The very flat aluminium profiles are colour coated (usually black). In an actual SG curtain wall, the only thing visible truly is the glass. Options of either ten or twenty millimetre profile cross joints may be used as desired.

Another benefit is the efficient production due to mitred corner joints. Element dimensions and filling weight may not exceed the following: width x height = 2600 x 3600 millimetres, maximum filling weight = 300 kilograms. A consistently overlapping sealing system with interlocking gasket joints prevents water from entering.

For outer and inner corners, system solutions in all-glass design are available. Profiles will therefore no longer be used. Elements are structured as desired by vertical and horizontal glazing bars and may therefore be shaped into any format. The curtain wall mounting brackets are a tested system solution. Added benefit for the client: Clients no longer need to make calculations themselves but may instead take advantage of solutions with already completed static calculations. Another cost benefit.

The sun shading protection fastening bolts transfer static loads and are specifically designed for narrow profiles. An appealing and safe solution.
