Design for Beaufort Windows and Doors
Aluminium windows, doors and screens from Beaufort
Secure Design met stringent acoustic and thermal performance specifications
at a major new residential development by Fairview Homes in North London.

Beaufort's
long-standing customer Birchdale Glass won the £470,000 to design,
manufacture and install some 1,000 aluminium windows and doors, using
Beaufort's advanced window and French door systems, in 260 apartments
at Bounds Green Road.
Built on a former Middlesex University site, the five four-storey blocks,
including 130 for affordable housing purposes, are located close to
London's busy North Circular Road and therefore affected by traffic
noise.
Following noise assessments carried out at the outset and after completion,
the windows easily met the acoustic performance demanded by Haringey
Council.
Additionally, the slim sightlines and aesthetic styling of the smart
white polyester powder coated frames, satisfied the authority's planning
requirements, as well as exceeded project specifications in terms of
pollution-resistant, thermal and weather performance.
All windows, doors and screens were glazed with SGG Planitherm Total
1.1 energy-efficient Low-E glass, which combines a low U-value with
high solar gain and contributes to lower fuel bills for residents. All
doors feature multi-point locking for optimum security.
Birchdale's Managing Director Michael Deanus explains: The aesthetic,
energy-efficient and low-maintenance features of Beaufort's aluminium
systems make them a popular, sustainable and versatile choice with house
builders and residents alike.
