Interbuild is Upon Us

Interbuild, which includes a strong CAB Aluminium in Construction Zone (with a new Aluminium 'Village' concept) is now on at the NEC Birmingham. We offer our normal mix of News, Products and Projects this month, but we also have an extended section covering relevant exhibitors at Interbuild.

If you are visiting the show, be sure to visit the CAB stand where you can pick up the new annual report and a new Sustainability brochure.

Good news this month from aluminium specialist Beaufort Secure Design - one of the industry's success stories of recent years - which has been snapped up by the Blyweert Aluminium Group, which already owns companies in Belgium, Holland, Poland and France. Apart from anything, it's great to see a good, old fashioned trade acquisition, rather than the involvement of some faceless venture capital outfit. We will publish more on this next month.

Council for Aluminium in Building

The Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) was formed in 1994 by the bringing together of three existing trade associations, the Architectural Aluminium Association, the Patent Glazing Contractors Association and the Aluminium Window Association, all of whom had been established for well over 25 years. Our mission is to support the interests of the architectural aluminium industry by encouraging the increasing use of aluminium products in architecture and the construction industry as a whole, to encourage quality and best practice, to set new technical standards and protect members' business and contractual interest. In addition we are driving forward the development of a national training structure for the sector and have received major grants from the DTI to assist in this activity.
